First there is a beautiful engagement and joy at getting married and spending your lives together. This is often followed by apprehension – where do I start? There is so much to take care of!

Below you can find a list of elements that are crucial for any wedding and information on what you can do to make the process go as smoothly as possible.

  1. Guest list

Sometimes it’s hard to say how many people you’d like to invite. You need to take a moment to think whether you want a small wedding for close family or you’d like to have a pretext to reach out to old friends and distant family members and invite people from all over Poland and even abroad. Some couples say that it’s “appropriate” to invite someone or “we’ve been to their wedding and even though we’ve fallen out of touch, we should invite them as well”. Sometimes it’s just about who you like or don’t like. You have to remember that this is YOUR special day and you should feel comfortable.

  • Wedding venue and style

When you have a preliminary guest list, you should assume that around 10-15% of your guests will not show up to your wedding for different reasons. Still, you can choose the venue, which is actually the most important element of the entire event due to the availability of venues. As you probably know, the venue determines at least to some extent the direction you’re going to take when it comes to the feel of the event, whether it’s going to be rustic, palace-style or something a bit more modern. It all depends on your taste and ideas. Friday or even Thursday weddings are becoming more and more popular. Sometimes a couple agrees to a day other than Saturday because of a given venue. It’s an alternative that is worth considering, as it usually involves lower costs.

  • Photographer and videographer

Just like good venues, good photographers and videographers are often booked two years in advance. Your date may be available, of course, but it’s better to stay on the safe side and book as soon as possible.

Remember, that if you start planning your wedding well in advance you have the best chance of booking the suppliers that meet your expectations.
